Builder appointed for Australia’s first Ace Hotel

Bringing iconic lifestyle hotel brand, Ace Hotel down under in an Australian first is a remarkable milestone for the Golden Age team and we’re proud to announce that we have appointed one of the country’s most preeminent construction groups, Hickory, to help bring this project to life.

Built around the heritage façade of the federation warehouse known as ‘Tyne House’ and salvaging certain elements for use within the hotel showcases not only our commitment to sustainability, but demonstrates Hickory’s capability to preserve the rich history of Surry Hills through both the demolition and construction phase.

Cementing itself as a household name in the United States with locations including New York, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Chicago, Seattle, as well as London Shoreditch and more, Ace Hotel is recognised for their fresh approach to the hotel industry.

Individually designed to reflect its surroundings, Ace Hotel is fueled by a love of the hyperlocal, marrying the pragmatic with the romantic, the private with the collective and the old world with the future.

Ace Hotel Sydney will feature 264 rooms, a ground floor lobby bar, restaurant and cafe, as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant. Inspired by the abundance of natural flora, the city’s rich history as a welcoming hub and its generous quality of life, the hotel stands as a unique intersection of culture, commerce, art and community gathering.
